Two policemen were slightly injured when a crowd in Derry City hurled petrol bombs and fireworks during a drugs raid.

Stones and bottles were also thrown after violence erupted in the Brandywell area yesterday evening.

Police sustained minor head and back damage after being hit by missiles.

A PSNI car was damaged. A 51-year-old man was charged with possession and possession with intent to supply drugs offences after officers discovered 150 ecstasy tablets, cocaine, amphetamines and cannabis at a house.

He is to appear at Derry Magistrates' Court tomorrow. A 25-year-old woman arrested but released pending reports.
