PSNI investigates two separate Antrim fires

Police in south Belfast are investigating a fire in a camper van on Tomb Street shortly after 10pm last night.

Police in south Belfast are investigating a fire in a camper van on Tomb Street shortly after 10pm last night.

According to a PSNI spokeswoman the van, belonging to a German tourist, was destroyed, along with all his possessions and money.

Forensic tests are being carried, and police are treating the incident as suspicious.

Elsewhere, police in Ballyclare, Co Antrim, are investigating a suspicious fire at a haulage yard on Mill road in the town.

Three large explosions were heard in the area shortly after 12.30am, and four lorries were found alight.

The explosions are thought to have been tyres bursting.
