TAIPEI - As many as four Taiwan protesters defied Japanese coastal patrols early today and landed on an East China Sea archipelago to claim the isles back from Japan, Taiwan state radio said. "Four people have succeeded in landing and raising the Republic of China national flag," the station said, quoting ship to shore radio reports from a flotilla of about 50 Taiwanese boats seeking to make the landing.
