Health unions have announced details of a planned protest at Letterkenny General Hospital over cutbacks in services at the hospital.

The INO, IMPACT and SIPTU unions will hold a lunchtime protest at  the hospital at 1pm on Monday 10th November.

A joint statment issued by the unions claimed the failure to fund vital services at the hospital is having a 'detrimental effect'.

The unions warned that the situation would 'deteriorate rapidly' unless 'death by a thousand cuts' are opposed at the hospital.

Organisers have said they are anticipating a large turnout of the membership and expect to be
joined by local health pressure groups, community groups and political representatives to protest and show their support for this issue.
