Residents of Lusk, Co Dublin, are to step up their protest today against a proposed new dump. A demonstration will take place outside Fingal County Council offices where the local authority is to meet to consider whether to proceed with the proposed landfill site at Tooman, four miles from Balleally dump. It follows a public meeting last night at which some 400 residents and local politicians voiced their opposition to the plan.
