An inquest hearing into the death of a Sri Lankan-born prostitute whose body was found in a Dublin city-centre flat was adjourned yesterday.

Ms Belinda Pereira (27) died as a result of multiple head injuries caused by a blunt instrument.

Her body was found in a flat at Mellor Court, Liffey Street, last December.

The City Coroner, Dr Brian Farrell, adjourned the matter until January 14th, as a Garda investigation is still being conducted into Ms Pereira's death.

None of Ms Pereira's relatives attended yesterday's brief hearing at Dublin City Coroner's Court.
