THE FIRST episode of a new drama series for teenagers on RTE Network 2, which dealt with teenage suicide, was postponed last night following the recent, much publicised suicide of the Dublin based poet Pat Tierney.

Edward No Hands, written by Dermot Bolger and produced and directed by Charlie McCarthy, tells the story of an abandoned 15 year old who hangs himself. Another episode in the series was screened instead. Mr Kevin Lenihan, head of young people's programming in RTE, said media debate during the week led RTE to decide on the postponement.
