Three people are reported to have been injured after more than 50 prisoners in Mountjoy barricaded themselves into a recreation room in the prison.
The incident, which was believed to have begun shortly after 4 pm today, has since been resolved. The prison governor was said to have been called in to Mountjoy to help deal with the situation. It is not yet clear what led to the stand-off.
The injured people, which are reported to be a prisoner and two members of staff, have been taken to hospital.
A spokesman for An Garda Siochana said they were aware of the incident but could provide no further detail.
