Princess Margaret visited Northern Ireland yesterday to meet members of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. She is president of the organisation.

The reception took place at "Hillsborough Castle in Co Down. Earlier, she met the North's Environment Minister, Mr Malcolm Moss, when she opened a children's centre in Ballymena, Co Antrim. She visited the North last October.
