Priest remanded in sex abuse ease

A Catholic priest was again remanded on bail when he appeared in court in Belfast yesterday on charges of child sex abuse

A Catholic priest was again remanded on bail when he appeared in court in Belfast yesterday on charges of child sex abuse. Father Joseph Steele (56), is accused of 11 offences of indecent assault and one of gross indecency over a 14 year period ending in 1983.

Originally from Belfast, his address was given as Kimmage Manor, Dublin, which is run by the Holy Ghost Order.

Father Steele is due in court again on October 10th.
