Rome - Lawyers for convicted Nazi war criminal Erich Priebke said yesterday that they plan to appeal to the highest office of Italy's military court to have their client released.

Mr Carlo Taormina, one of Priebke'a lawyers, said the appeal would question the impartiality of the military judges who rejected on Monday a demand to free the former SS captain sentenced to five years in jail last month for his role in the second World War massacre of 335 civilians.)
