Bucharest - President Emil Constantinescu stepped in yesterday to try to broker a solution to Romania's government crisis and his embattled Prime Minister said a revised cabinet would be known within 24 hours. Mr Constantinescu summoned all four parties in the centrist coalition to his private residence to deal with a threat by its second-largest party, the Social Democrats, to walk out unless the Prime Minister resigned.
