The power supply to Dublin airport was temporarily lost yesterday following a fault at a nearby ESB sub-station.

A spokesman for Dublin Airport Authority said there were no delays as a result of the outage, which he described as very brief.

He said power was restored to the airfield rapidly and then to the terminal shortly afterwards.

An ESB spokeswoman said there had been a fault at a sub-station in Finglas and the airport was without electricity for about one minute.

She said a special airport fall-back line kicked in almost instantly to restore power.
