VATICAN CITY - Pope John Paul has sent his condolences to families of the victims of the aircraft disaster. A telegram to Cardinal John O'Connor, Archbishop of New York, from Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Angelo Sodano said the Pontiff was "deeply saddened" by news of the tragedy.
