'Mr Milligram' can turn the scales - just look at Inda

POLITICS IS a hard road.

POLITICS IS a hard road.

The Taoiseach had a difficult time in opposition. He was Kenny Lite. Enda the Underestimated. People said he didn’t have it in him to be the boss.

And there were times you had to wonder. And he was in hot water again on Thursday with his comment about “people” going mad during the boom.

He should have said “some people”. On the other hand, he didn’t say “the people”. A little bitty word let him down.

But look at Enda now. Taoiseach and Mayo Person of the Year. Hobnobbing in Number 10 with his mate Dave. In Davos for the economic forum. Opening Botox factories in Mayo.

We say this to offer some comfort to Ed Milliband, the leader of her majesty’s opposition in Britain, who is being dismissed in Westminster as a political lightweight.

The Labour Party leader has been dubbed Ed Milligram. It must be tough for him.

Chin up and think of Inda, Mr Milligram.
