THE appointment of extra judges is significantly cutting delays in the hearing of court cases, the House was told by the Minister for Justice, Mrs Owen.

ln the Dublin Circuit Court new litigants in civil cases could get a court date within six weeks compared with a delay of two years last July. Family law cases in the Dublin Circuit Court area were reduced from 16 months to four and there were no delays in the hearing of criminal cases.
