Anti-doping tests for athletes will probably be introduced in 1998, the Dail was told. The Minister for Sport, Dr McDaid, said there were difficulties in introducing blood tests as part of the system, because of "constitutional difficulties" but he hoped to be able to introduce a drugs testing system next year.
