PORT-AU-PRINCE - President Rene Preval will donate one month of his presidential salary to people starving in the north-western region of Haiti where people are so hungry they are eating dogs.
A group of legislators will also donate $300 of their monthly salary, the press office at the National Palace said yesterday. It's a patriotic decision that we have made, a move for real action to [solve] the problem, said Mr Vasco Thermelan, a deputy from the region.
