Police treat NI fires as suspicious

A fire which swept through three houses today was being treated by police as suspicious.

A fire which swept through three houses today was being treated by police as suspicious.

The fire was believed to have started in an empty property at Church Street in Strabane, Co Tyrone at 5.45am.

By the time firefighters arrived, it had spread to an adjoining empty property and then on to a third house which was occupied.

Police evacuated the houses while the fire service tackled the blaze.

A Police Service spokeswoman said they were treating the fire as suspicious and were appealing for witnesses.
