Police in County Tyrone are appealing for information after a man received serious injuries in an overnight paramilitary-style punishment attack.

A gang of up to eight masked men broke into the 29 year-old's home on the Lisnahaul Road in Dungannon shortly after 9pm.

The man was beaten with hurleys before being dragged outside the house and shot in the leg and in the ankle. The men then escaped in a car which police said was parked at the rear of the property.
