Police in Derry are appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run that left a man seriously injured in hospital.

Police in Derry are appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run that left a man seriously injured in hospital.

A PSNI spokeswoman said a man in his 50s was found in the car park of Ballyarnett Country Park with "serious injuries to his body" shortly before 9pm last night.

"The man was taken to hospital where he remains in serious condition," she said.

Police at Strand Road are investigating and have asked for anyone with information to come forward.
