Police in the North are hunting a gang of four men who robbed a pensioner in his home in Armagh last night.

The 75-year-old man was alone in his house on Clady Road at around 8.30 pm when he saw a torchlight in the garden.

He opened his front door and was confronted by four men, who pushed their way into the house and forced him to the ground.

The victim was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money.

The men, whom a PSNI spokesman described as having "southern accents", then made off in a small car.

Police are appealing for information.
