AMSTERDAM - Amsterdam's police force plans to become the first in the world to use roller skates in its pursuit of criminals.
Starting this summer, a team of six officers on skates will patrol the Dutch city's pedestrian zones and the narrow streets of the tourist district.
"Police officers on skates are very fast and we hope to catch many more street thieves," a police spokesman said.
