The body of an elderly woman was exhumed from a graveyard in South Armagh today after police launched an investigation into her death.

She died in a house in the Forkhill area in December 2004.

Police said officers were treating the death as suspicious.

Under the cover of a tent, the body was exhumed from the grave at Dromintee, near Meigh.

A post mortem examination will be carried out.

Police said nobody had been arrested in connection with the death of the woman, who has not been named.
