Police in the North are examining two rifles recovered by officers in Co Tyrone.

Police in the North are examining two rifles recovered by officers in Co Tyrone.

The rifles - one of which had a telescopic sight - were found in the Brackaville Road yesterday in Coalisland.

In a separate incident a shotgun was also discovered by police from a west Belfast cemetery.

The weapon was recovered on the City Cemetery in the Falls Road during a search yesterday afternoon.

In Derry, police are today investigating the theft of a legally held shotgun and a small number of cartridges from a house at Green Road in the Ardmore area on the outskirts of the city.

The firearm was stolen during a break-in that was discovered around 9pm last night.
