Two SDLP councillors needed a police escort out of a meeting of Ballymoney council after loyalists protested in the council chamber over last Sunday's rerouted Orange parade in Dunloy, Co Antrim.

About 20 loyalist protesters entered the chamber yesterday. They continually stared at the two SDLP councillors, Mr Malachy McCamphill and Mr Charley O'Kane, prompting concerned officials to call the police. As the councillors made their way to their cars, they were taunted by about 50 loyalists.
