Minsk - Police yesterday detained 14 journalists in the Belarussian capital, Minsk, who were taking part in and reporting on the handing in of a petition in support of an arrested Russian television crew, witnesses said.
Several dozen reporters staged a protest demanding the release of a crew from Public Russian Television (ORT), who face up to five years in prison after authorities charged them with illegally crossing the Belarussian-Lithuanian border. - (Reuter)
