A woman was arrested last night by detectives investigating the suspicious death of a baby in the North.

Police said she was being held over the death of an infant whose body was found in Irvinestown, County Fermanagh last Thursday.

The focus of the police investigation has been on a new house in the Spruce Hill area of the town.

Few details of the baby have been released by police but it is believed they are treating its death as a domestic incident.

They have so far declined to give the baby's exact age or whether it was a boy or a girl.

It is believed the baby and its family had only recently moved to Irvinestown.
