Police arrest one over Belfast abuduction

Police in Belfast are investigating the abduction and assault of a man in the city last night.

Police in Belfast are investigating the abduction and assault of a man in the city last night.

The man (30) was abducted from his home on the Antrim Road at around 7.30 p.m. by a group of armed men.

The men took the man in a white Porsche belonging to the man, but the car was intercepted by police at around 9 p.m. and one man was arrested.

The victim was taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police are appealing for anyone who might have  information or who may have seen a red Volkswagen car in the area where the Porsche was taken.
