Sydney - A man posing as part of a security detail and armed with a knife and a suspected bomb was arrested yesterday at a Sydney venue where Queen Elizabeth II was about to attend a ceremonial lunch.

The man, later identified as Mr Gregory Philip Pailthorpe (39), was challenged as he approached the security cordon at Darling Harbour just an hour before the British monarch was due, police said. "He told police he was part of the security detail," said a superintendent.
