Police arrest 58 N-protesters

Geesthacht - Police yesterday detained 58 activists demonstrating outside a north German nuclear power station where a shipment of radioactive waste was due to begin its journey to Britain later in the day. Police said the protesters had tried to prevent a railway engine from entering the grounds of the Kruemmel power plant. The activists would remain in custody until the shipment was on its way to the Sellafield reprocessing plant, police said.
