Plot to kill UN head reported

ANKARA - An attempt on the life of the UN Secretary General was foiled by Turkish police, the liberal newspaper Milliyet said yesterday. Police increased security for UN officials currently in Istanbul for a UN summit on cities. The plot by the outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front to murder Dr Boutros Boutros Ghali in Isitanbul failed as a member of the group informed police of the plan.
