Pledge on divorce legislation

LEGISLATION permitting divorce will be published immediately after the court challenge to the divorce referendum concludes. The Taoiseach said the Government was prohibited from publishing the legislation until the amendment to the Constitution was in place. He told Ms Mary Harney, leader of the Progressive Democrats, that the legislation would be published alter the Supreme Court judgment in the Hanafin case the day after.
