A basketball player who was knocked unconscious when he slipped during a game was awarded £8,000 damages yesterday. Mr Keith Battersby, aged 17 at the time, of Arthur Griffith Park, Lucan, sued Dublin County Council over the accident, at the Lucan Community Centre on January 29th, 1993.
Judge Dominic Lynch, in Dublin Circuit Civil Court, said the accident was foreseeable as the defendants were aware of a condensation problem in the building.
