Play has resumed at the French Open after a second rain delay lasting 45 minutes.

Jennifer Capriati and Serena Williams were called off centre court at 1.29 p.m. with Capriati leading their quarter-final by a set 6-3, but 5-1 down in the second set.

The players had earlier left the court in the first set but returned minutes later when the showers passed.

The start of play had been delayed for 90 minutes and intermittent rain is forecast for most of the day.
