Planning turned down

Planning permission has been refused for the construction of three giant 56-ft high silo tanks at Galway Docks which, if granted, would have led to the setting up of a cement importation business. A Derry-based firm, Eurocement, had intended to import cement from Italy and use Galway as a base for distribution.
