The announcement that RTE's FM3 radio station will be transferred to Limerick has been welcomed by Shannon Development's chief executive, Mr Paul Sheane.
He said it comes as a result of several months' negotiations on behalf of the city by Limerick Corporation, the chamber of commerce and Shannon Development.
They worked to persuade RTE that Limerick was the most suitable location because of recent cultural developments including the basing of the chamber orchestra at the university.
