Pipebomb found in Cork city

A pipebomb has been discovered in Cork city and made safe.

A pipebomb has been discovered in Cork city and made safe.

An Army bomb disposal team was called to a house in Farranree following the discovery of the device in a vehicle shortly before 12pm.

The device was removed from the vehicle and made safe and the remains handed over to gardaí for their investigations.

The scene was declared safe at 1.30pm

To date this year, Army bomb disposal teams have been called out over 30 times.
