Planning approval for the Sonas development at the Phoenix Park in Dublin has been welcomed by the Dublin 15 community council, which says it represents 49 residents' and community groups in the Dublin 15 area.
But the organisation said it was "amazed" that residents' concerns about jobs and roads were not addressed by An Bord Pleanala when it approved the hotel, conference centre and casino complex last week.
"We badly need jobs in Dublin 15 and any development which would guarantee jobs for our families would, of course, be welcome," a spokesman said. "However, there are no guarantees of employment for local residents."
