Petrol bombs thrown in west Belfast

A 14-year-old boy was arrested after two petrol bombs were thrown at police vehicles in west Belfast last night.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested after two petrol bombs were thrown at police vehicles in west Belfast last night.

A large number of youths gathered on the Springfield Road and blocked traffic.

Bus operator Translink said one of its buses was attacked with stones during the disturbances and it had withdrawn services in the area. There were no reports of any injuries.

Police dispersed the crowd and said the area was now quiet.
