Petrol bombers attacked the wrong house in an early morning attack in Northern Ireland.

Petrol bombers attacked the wrong house in an early morning attack in Northern Ireland.

Police said a family, who managed to escape unharmed from the attack in Ballymena, Co Antrim, were the victims of mistaken identity.

The living room of the property was damaged in the attack in Dunfane Park in the north of Ballymena shortly before 1am.

Another device struck an exterior wall.

Three youths were seen running in the direction of Beech Drive.

Detectives have appealed to anyone who could identify the youths to contact them.
