Dublin-based oil and gas explorer Petroceltic, which has with licenses in North Africa and Italy, started drilling for gas on the Isarene permit in Algeria on May 16th.

The overall program for the permit planned by Petroceltic, which is operator with a 75 per cent interest, is for between five and seven wells. Algerian state energy company Sonatrach has a 25 per cent interest in the permit.
