An elderly group gathered in a Co Down community hall escaped injury after the building was set alight by a youths last night.

Petrol was poured over the door of the centre in Skipperstone Street, Bangor, around 9pm and set alight.

Although no one was hurt, the building suffered some damage.

Police are treating the fire as arson.
