A pensioner was sexually assaulted in Newry last night.
The woman, aged in her 70s, was walking on Upper Kiln Street in the town at around 8.15pm yesterday when a man grabbed her in an indecent manner and threatened her.
Her attacker, who police described as being 5ft 7ins tall, with short dark hair, of slim build with a swarthy complexion, fled after a female motorist intervened.
The woman was taken to hospital suffering from shock and cuts and bruises.
Detectives want to speak to any witnesses, particularly the woman driver who stepped in.
