Back money for Social Welfare pensioners whose payments are delayed for a year or more through the Department's fault will include compensation for rises in the cost of living, the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs, Mr Dermot Ahern, has announced. Mr Ahern signed regulations last week to provide statutory entitlement to the compensation.
