Two pedestrians have died in crashes in Westmeath and Tipperary.

Two pedestrians have died in crashes in Westmeath and Tipperary.

In Athlone, Sharon Brennan (40) from, Sean McDermott Street, Dublin 1, died in hospital after being knocked down by a bus on Southern Station Road yesterday afternoon.

She was taken to Portiuncula Hospital where she died last night.

A man killed yesterday when he was hit by a truck on the N7 at Scragg, Carrigatoher, Nenagh was also named today. He was Tony O'Beirne (76) from Greentrees Road, Perrystown, Dublin 12.
