Pedestrian killed in Tralee crash

A man has died after being knocked down by a truck in Tralee, Co Kerry.

A man has died after being knocked down by a truck in Tralee, Co Kerry.

The pedestrian, who was aged in his 60s and was from the area, was hit at the roundabout linking Strand Road and Matt Talbot Road at about 11.15am.

The man was taken to Kerry General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The road has been closed pending a forensic investigation.

Witnesses to the incident have been asked to contact Tralee Garda station on 066-7102300.

The man is the 124th person to die on the State's roads so far this year.
