Pedestrian killed in Thurles road incident

A man died when he was hit by a truck in Thurles, Co Tipperary, this morning.

A man died when he was hit by a truck in Thurles, Co Tipperary, this morning.

According to gardaí, the 19-year-old pedestrian died at 8.50am at Cuchulainn Road in the town. He was struck by an articulated lorry.

The victim was taken to St Joseph's Hospital, Clonmel, but was pronounced dead.

According to reports, the truck was turning at a junction at the time.

The road at the scene has been reopened following a Garda examination.
