Pedestrian killed in Limerick crash

A man aged in his 50s has died after he was struck by a car as he was walking in Co Limerick yesterday evening.

A man aged in his 50s has died after he was struck by a car as he was walking in Co Limerick yesterday evening.

The pedestrian was fatally injured when hit by the car at about 7.30pm on the N21 at Coolanoran, Ardagh, Co. Limerick

The incident followed a minor collision which occurred some minutes earlier at the same location.

Traffic diversions were put in place while a forensic investigation was carried out but the road has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact them at Askeaton Garda station on 061-601630.
