A 41-year-old pedestrian was killed overnight. He was walking on the N11 southbound when he was struck at Coynes Cross, Ashford, Co Wicklow at around 1.30am.
He died at the scene.
Gardai are appealing for anyone who travelled southbound on the N11 between 12.30am and 1.45am and who may have seen the man or the collision to come forward.
They are also asking for anyone who saw a Black Fiat Diablo van 09 WW prior to the incident to get in touch.
